Our Story

Before the birth of Swey, I was a first-time mom that had just finished my ophthalmology residency. Navigating
through motherhood, I quickly realized how much turnover and waste took place in the fashion industry. Buying
clothes for my newborn brought on a lot of guilt because I knew they would ultimately end up in a landfill. On the
other hand, as a zero generation immigrant from India, it was equally important to incorporate my culture into my
children’s clothing along with exemplifying the importance of caring for the longevity of our planet. I started looking
closely at my own decisions and the brands I was supporting. However, I could not find brands that were ethically
sourced, transparent with their pricing, and prioritizing circularity all while having a South Asian touch. This is what inspired Swey.


I plan to use the same approach I took in medical school to achieve success with this company - care about the
people you serve, be transparent, and most importantly – work for the betterment of society.


The goal of our brand is to have a positive impact on the planet, create beautiful and functional products that do not
end up in landfills, and encourage other brands to adopt a similar method of operation.
